Why are failures important than success?

We all celebrate success and generally not very happy about failures. The reason seems to be very obvious for the most of us; success always treated as a value addition whereas failures as a value subtraction but for me both are value additions and failure is more important than success. lets see why I am saying that.

Success tells that we can do, which is also important and there is no question about it but what does a failure say? The reasons for a failure can be external which we don't have any control and internal like mistakes, weakness, preparation and etc. I believe most of the failures are due to internal reasons but when we fail due to some external reasons then we can handle it the way Sandeep Maheshwari handles. Every failure gives a great experience and helps to grow up.

"All my life, I have been a failure. A failure when I dropped out of college. A failure when I started my career. A failure when I wrote a book. A failure when my business closed down... but, a failure to others, not to myself. And, you can also turn your failures into success, just like I did!" - Sandeep Maheshwari
I failed many times in my life and one of them was when they made me promise on earth in front of my mother. Another one: I was one of the top students in my class and topped in several talent exams in the school and when I wrote a talent exam in other school and I failed. There were several reasons to it but this failure helped a lot in my ways; I got know where I stand, what I should improve and etc.

Every failure helped to handle my further life better and better. I never saw my failures as meeting others exceptions or blamed either myself or anyone for my failures instead took them as positively and improved upon them and may be that was the reason why I am where I am today.

Failures come only to them who try to do something better and only those people move ahead.

Let me know your views on the same.

What is success?

We hear everyday a lot about success and failure but what are they really? Does it really matter to know their meanings?

Every word acquires lot of meanings and ideas over time and eventually they become social labels .

Once any word become a social label, it will loss its flexibility and diversity and become rigid and specific.

One such word is 'discipline'. What is your understanding of this word? Why does hearing the word it self make us uncomfortable immediately?

Because it has become a social label and lost it completeness. Now we just use it in the context of controlling people but where does this word come from? It came from word 'disciple'. Disciple is some one who lives with a master and follows him to understand his teachings.

The act of disciple is 'discipline' with a primary goal to understand but we forgot such usage and now we use it to make people follow certain rules without any concern if they understood or not.

The same happened with words success and failure.
"Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming." - John Wooden
"You are capable of more than you know. Choose a goal that seems right for you and strive to be the best, however hard the path. Aim high. Behave honorably. Prepare to be alone at times, and to endure failure. Persist! The world needs all you can give." - E. O. Wilson
We all need to create our own path towards success

In my view both success and failure are very personal experiences. If we choose to do something which are sure to succeed then outcome might look positive but our inner feeling says that we should do better to grow. When we try to do little more extra than we are comfortable off then sometimes outcome might come negative but growth happens.

Most of the times success or failure are decided based on outcome only, ignoring inner experience so that they are comparable but can we really compare my success with yours? We put lot of focus on outcome, it is very important but not at the cost of inner peace; when we peacefully understood the goal then clarity comes and risks will be visible much earlier so we will be prepared if something goes out of hands.

We should associate success or failure not only with outcome but also with inner feelings then they will be complete and no one ever have to depressed of the outcome.

Everyone should come up with their own definition of success

Start observing your inner feelings and you will know your own definition of success. I want to hear your thoughts so leave comments. Bye bye.

The game of problems

King asked his minister to announce a get together party in which everyone was welcomed.

The minister announced the same in the every part of the kingdom. Except for the king no one knew what was going to happen in the party so they all were excited and eagerly waited for that day to come and finally the day had come and all were gathered at one place.

The king had arranged nice dance and music so everyone started enjoying the party.

Couple of hours passed... slowly the crowd started becoming curious about the party and they started discussing with each other about their reasons so noise was increasing and the king noticed it and he thought it was the right time to introduce 'the game of problems' to them.

He had signaled to stop the music and dance and then slowly the crowd started paying attention to the king...

He gave everyone a paper and pen and asked to enter the top most problem that was bothering them and put in the basket.

Immediately lot of whispering started but after some time they all were settled and started putting their problems into the basket.

After everyone has finished, he asked them to pick up any problem from the basket and solve it. He further added that if you doesn't like a problem  then pick another one but the end of the party everyone should have one problem to solve.

They were puzzled initially but they started choosing the problems and the king was observing.

Everyone picking a problem and throwing again to basket and it continued...

At last everyone had picked up a problem. Any guesses what would be that problem?

Yes!! your guess is right. It was their own problem.

Some of us think that only our problems are big and everything is happening well for others but when look into others lives deeply then we will know everyone has problems. Once we change these beliefs and put sincere efforts then we will find solutions to all problems.

The biggest problem

A happy king took his horse and rode the horse into his kingdom...

Raju was coming towards and seeing him, the king stopped the horse and asked Raju, how was his day? Raju didn't reply anything and he was silent with sad face...

King: You look sad, What happened?
Raju: I had a cow and which used to give me milk and I used to sell it and earn money but now I lost the cow so as my earnings so as everything...
King: Oh... so this is the reason for your sadness.
Raju: Nodded his head and waiting for some help from the king.
King: When did you lose your cow?
Raju: A month ago...
King: Okay. What were you doing these days?
Raju: Searching for cow... what else can I do?
King: Are you still searching for the lost cow?
Raju: Yes... Everyday I come to market and see if my cow is there in the market... what else can I do?
King: How are you running your family now?
Raju: I saved some money from my milk business and now my family is living on it.
King: Why don't you buy another cow?
Raju: What if I lose it again? I can't risk my money on another cow.
King: Okay fair point but what are you really doing with your money now? If you keep on searching for your old cow then you will surely lose all your money without any risk. Don't you agree with my point?
Raju: Oh right, I will buy a new cow and start my business. Thanks for the help.

They both moved on their journey...

King met several other people on his further journey and learned that most of them were stuck with their problems thinking that it is the biggest problem and not progressing further in their life.

That was long day for the king... finally he returned to his palace. He relaxed for sometime then started thinking about the problems of his people and he decided to call his people and make them play "the game of problems".
I've failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed. -Michael Jordan

Birth of success on demand

(Continuation...)
She opened the door with design for SMS help service...

I: Wow!! You did it.

She: Yes, check if I am missing something here.

The core idea
There will be pool of counselors and when a student sends SMS to our service then the service will alert first three available counselors. The counselors can send their answers to the service and first received answer will be delivered to the student. If the student likes the answer then he/she can discuss further with the counselor otherwise the service will send answers from other counselors to the student. In case none of the three counselors respond then the service alerts next five available counselors and so on.

I: Darling, this is wonderful but I want to discuss my findings.

She: Okay, what are they?

Smartphone usage is increasing among Indian students. This article says that "70% of the students have smartphones" and also the internet usage is increasing and another article supports that and states that "83% students are using internet".

She: Wow!! that is good news so we shouldn't invest our time on building a solution which based on a old technology.

I: You are right. We shall wait for sometime and let the transition happen then we can build the right solution.

She agreed to it but still she was bit upset as we decided not to build her solution. I believe nothing goes waste and at right time we shall discover its use.

After few days, when we were watching "Face 2 Face with Sri Sri", we got this idea "Success on demand". In that show, the people around the globe were expressing their problems and one of the problem was "increasing suicidal rate among the youth". Being youth, we were influenced by this problem. Now a days, youth challenge them selves to have better comforts than others so it leads to competition. Many times they just get attached with idea of having more irrespective of the real necessity and they want to reach their goals very fast so it leads to stress; when they fail reaching their goals, they make wrong decisions.

There is nothing wrong in aiming for bigger things but there should be proper plan and understanding of the goal.

Planning for failure is a necessary step towards success but most of us fear of failure so we don't want to think about it but we need a backup plan if things goes out of control.

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts...
